notes:  This item features a piece of hyalite opal from NW Nevada.  Hyalite opal is completely colorless; it usually forms in thin skins of botryoidal (grape like) masses.  This is a good representation of what is found at this location.  It fluoresces bright green under an ultra violet light.  The host material is rhyolite.
