Hiddenite is a relative of
kunzite; they are
both forms of spodumene; a lithium aluminum silicate mineral.
The name came from W. E. Hidden, who
discovered this stone in North Carolina, in 1879. Hiddenite is a yellow-green
spodumene while kunzite is a pink variety. The name spodumene is from the Greek
spodoumens, “burnt ash”.
Major sources of hiddenite are Brazil,
Madagascar, Burma and the U.S.

“If you possess even a small piece of
Hiddenite, it can help you get in touch with your own creative potential. It
will also demand that you find ways to share it and use it for the benefit of
the whole. In this sense it could be said to bring wealth, but only if you are
guided in its use by your heart. While we would not consider its energy as male
or yang, it does bring out the dynamic aspects of love required to manifest the
creative flow.” 5
