Sphene
The name, "sphene," comes from the Greek sphen, "wedge," a reference to the characteristic shape of the crystals. Also known as titanite, so named for its titanium content. A beautiful stone, its dispersion is higher than that of a diamond. It has very intense fire and excellent luster. Sphene is generally classed as a collector's stone; faceted stones in sizes over two or three carats are uncommon. Lore Sphene is a stone of consolation and solace. It is said to dispel disenchantment and bring forth comfort and encouragement. Couldnt find the information you need? There are some great reference books here.
